Assistant Professor of Data Analytics

The Plaster School of Business (PSB) at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Data Analytics position with an expected start date of August 1, 2025.

Duties:

• Teach a variety of graduate courses in the Data Analytics program. There may be an opportunity to teach undergraduate courses.
• Deliver courses through a hyflex instructional method.
• Leverage a variety of emerging technologies.
• Maintain an active in-discipline research agenda that results in presentations and applied and pedagogical peer-reviewed publications.
• Exhibit enthusiasm for engaging with and mentoring students.
• Exhibit willingness to collaborate with companies to provide students with work-based learning projects.
• Participate in service to the department, college, broader university community, and with the business and professional community.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates will possess an earned doctorate with a concentration in a data analytics-related field from an AACSB-accredited school by August 1, 2025. ABD candidates may be considered for a visiting position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Refereed in-discipline journal publications.
• Related industry experience

The PSB is accredited by ACBSP and is actively pursuing AACSB accreditation with 18 full-time faculty. Undergraduate programs include Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, HR Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. In addition, the PSB offers an MBA and M.S. in Data Analytics.
