Team Introduction
Our team at ByteDance Research is conducting research on Responsible AI, particularly from the viewpoint of AI agents and AI foundation models. We are looking for an outstanding research manager to lead our team to conduct cutting-edge research in the area.

Responsibilities:
1. Leading the research team to develop cutting-edge technologies in Responsible AI;
2. Enhancing the state-of-the-art technologies of AI to make them more reliable, safe, and trustworthy;
3. Contributing to the development of products in the company to make them more reliable, safe, and trustworthy.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Rich experience in research on ML, NLP, LLM, and familiarity with large-scale model training;
2. Proficiency in software development and large-scale model training;
3. Strong records in research and technology development, with influential projects or papers in ML, NLP, LLM;
4. Strong leadership skills, capable of leading the team to effectively solve problems and tackle technical challenges;
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of educating team members and collaborating with other teams.

Job Information

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $288000 - $560000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
