Data Architect

Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Data Architect to join our consultancy team. you will partner with a prestigious global client to lead the architectural and cloud strategy review and provide ongoing governance. 

Responsibilities

• Define strategic technical direction and provide technical oversight at Enterprise level.
• Establish and govern architecture practices, ensuring alignment with long-term business and technology objectives, and technical implementation.
• Establish architecture review boards, Data governance frameworks and Data technology roadmaps.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with 3rd party vendors to ensure technical alignment.
• Act as a technical advisor to executive stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering trams to ensure high quality implementation and technical alignment with strategic solution.
• Act as the key point of contact for direction and expertise across Data Architecture and Data Engineering
• Contributing to the development of innovative products and offerings that respond to market developments and the changing risk landscape
• Supporting junior team members on projects, helping manage their tasks and developing their coding skills 

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject 

• Certified in a relevant Enterprise Architecture framework e.g. TOGAF  

• Cloud and Data certifications an advantage

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in an enterprise architecture, Data Architecture or solution architecture role
• Experience in Enterprise Data architecture and Data engineering and cloud solutions with strong understanding of systems
• Strong expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Able to clearly and persuasively present complex information to senior stakeholders (including C-Suite), effectively influencing outcomes and strategic direction
• Deep understanding of integration patterns, microservices, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Hands-on experience with data security, compliance, and governance in a retail environment
• Strong background in third-party vendor management and contract negotiations
• Hands-on experience with governance tools, API’s and Azure/AWS advantageous
