Overview

Summary

The AI Center of Excellence Intern will work closely with the Principal AI Architect, AI COE and Senior Manager, AI COE and receive guidance from the VP of AI COE, contributing to the development and programming of C1’s intellectual property  related to applying Artificial Intelligence/Natural Language Processing (AI/NLP) to the C1 Elly platform. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, applying academic knowledge to real-world challenges. The intern will support the research, development, training, and optimization of AI-powered solutions, working with cutting-edge technologies and contributing to the continuous improvement of our AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Conducts research on emerging AI technologies and their potential applications.
• Implements and refines AI-powered bots using various frameworks
• Develops prototypes and proof-of-concepts using appropriate platforms and tools.
• Conversation Flow Design: Interprets business conversation flows and translates them into effective bot configurations.
• Data Analysis & Interpretation: Assists in the analysis of client business information to identify opportunities for AI automation and agent escalation, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
• Technology Exploration: Gains hands-on experience with current and next-generation technologies, including bots, AI, cloud services.
• Develops and enhances programming and software development skills using languages such as Python and JavaScript (NodeJS, ReactJS).
• Applies problem-solving and decision-making skills to creatively address challenges in AI development and implementation.
• Collaborates with other team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to the continuous improvement of consulting methodology, services, and toolsets.
• Proactively learns about C1 and C1's corporate directions, supporting strategies and activities for innovation and IP development.
• Documents findings from client discovery interviews and other research, contributing to clear and professional deliverables.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in progress (Computer Science, Information Science, or related field).
• Programming skills/aptitude and knowledge of Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Good troubleshooting + problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team and learn from colleagues.
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and/or Excel).
• High adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Model Context Protocol, NLTK, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Keras, pytorch etc.
• Familiarity with NodeJS, ReactJS, Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
• Experience with MySQL, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL
• Experience with HTML-CSS, Flask, Jupyter
