Position Overview

Foundever is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Director to oversee the teams responsible for provisioning cloud infrastructure for all software projects, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. He will also lead the Software Architecture team, defining best practices, guidelines, data pipelines and microservice frameworks to establish a strong foundation for AI-driven and enterprise applications.

A key focus of this role will be to implement and support Generative AI projects, ensuring the cloud infrastructure and software architecture are optimized for AI model development, deployment, and scalability. He will be responsible for driving technical strategy, innovation, and collaboration across engineering teams, ensuring that Foundever AI and cloud initiatives are built on a secure and efficient infrastructure.

This is a USA based role, and you will be remote but we would ideally consider candidates first from Miami or other East Coast locations.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Leadership

• Oversee the DevOps team responsible for provisioning and maintaining cloud infrastructure for all Foundever software projects.
• Ensure cloud environments support high availability, security, and cost optimization.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and monitoring strategies.
• Collaborate with AI, data science, and software engineering teams to enable efficient AI model deployment and scaling.

Generative AI Infrastructure & Integration projects

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions that support Generative AI projects, ensuring efficient compute resource allocation (including GPU acceleration) and secure AI model deployments.
• Establish best practices for AI model training, inference, and MLOps to support scalable AI-driven applications.
• Work closely with AI and data engineers to optimize machine learning and data pipelines and ensure seamless cloud integration for AI workloads.
• Develop strategies for AI-powered microservices that enhance AI product development.

Software Architecture & Microservices Development

• Lead the Software Architecture team, defining and maintaining architecture guidelines and best practices.
• Oversee the design and implementation of common microservices, ensuring modularity, scalability, and reusability across Foundever's software ecosystem.
• Drive the adoption of event-driven architectures, containerization, and serverless computing to enhance system performance.
• Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals and AI-driven innovation.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Serve as the technical leader bridging DevOps, software architecture, and AI engineering teams.
• Provide mentorship and career development opportunities for engineering team members.
• Collaborate with product and business leaders to align technical strategies with Foundever's AI and cloud vision.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of emerging cloud and AI technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps, with 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native technologies.
• Strong background in DevOps methodologies, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and distributed systems.
• Programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar for AI and cloud-native development.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models), ML Ops, and AI model optimization.
• Knowledge of security best practices for AI applications and cloud compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or LangChain.
