The Financial Solutions Lab (FSL) Sr. Lead Data Engineer is a professional role focused on executing the Financial Services strategy by managing and leading complex projects to translate important Financial Services business needs into value-adding data solutions which provide data driven insights and inform important business decisions.
The Sr. Lead Data Engineer will lead FSL data solutions with excellence, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, resilient, efficient, and consistent to establish and maintain trust and steward the data culture in Financial Services.
The Sr. Lead Data Engineer will enable others to explore, curate, and utilize data effectively and efficiently, multiplying FSL expertise to others to empower data solutions at the scale and speed Chick-fil-A needs.
To achieve our shared data objectives the role must create customer-focused partnerships with internal and external stakeholders within Financial Services and Digital Transformation & Technology (DTT) with a focus on creating value for business outcomes.

Responsibilities
- The Sr. Lead Data Engineer will primarily lead complex projects to design and implement data solutions to drive business value across Financial Services and other departments.
- Collaborates closely with business customers to implement and deliver scalable and reliable data and analytic solutions to meet business needs.
- Strategically partners with DTT to design and create advanced data models to enable BI tool exploration, data science, and other advanced analytical needs for Financial Services staff.
- Provides Financial Services teams technical leadership in their utilization of data as Financial Services matures its data capabilities.
- Champions data quality and governance, proactively addressing issues while influencing and aligning to enterprise practices.
- Informs the strategic direction of the broader data engineering community, contributing with innovation and excellence.
- Maximizes the utilization of the Chick-fil-A suite of data engineering tools (dbt, AWS, Apache Airflow, Databricks, Alteryx, etc.).
- Leads implementation of new capabilities, processes, and technical patterns within Financial Services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and data modeling skills
- Solid understanding of database technology
- Strong skills in SQL
- Experience utilizing Python or similar object-oriented language
- Experience using GitHub or similar code repository
- Fast learner and proven problem solver
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Business-results and customer-focused orientation. Seeks to understand business needs and works to anticipate, identify, and meet end-user needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using the AWS big data technology stack, e.g., AWS S3, Redshift
- Experience in Apache Airflow
- Experience using data visualization tools
- Experience implementing data governance principles
- Experience with Oracle (ERP) Financial modules
- Experience with dbt
- Experience with Databricks and spark
- 5+ year’s experience
