SPECIAL NOTES:
Four (4) years of professional or nonprofessional statistical experience is required. An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional statistical experience can substitute for the required professional experience.
Additional requirements:
- Two (2) or more years as an expert in the use of Microsoft Excel, ESRI software, Sequel, Tableau software, and or PowerBi software and Python.
- Two (2) or more years as an expert in the use of relational databases, WORD and Publisher or related software.
- Valid driver’s license.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

This position will be filled at the annual salary of $62,000.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to manage State Fire Marshal databases.
- Ability to create reports and dashboards within State Fire Marshal databases.
- Ability to create data reports from State Fire Marshal Databases.
- Ability to organize data into logical formats to create reports and dashboards.
- Ability to prepare charts, graphs, diagrams, and other pictorial representations of data.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and perform complex problem analysis.
- Ability to read and evaluate materials submitted for publication.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to review data for accuracy.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Collect, research, evaluate, and analyze data in the National Emergency Response Information System (NERIS). Review Florida Fire Incident data for completeness and accuracy. Perform complex review and evaluation using Tableau to build reports for special projects and other analysis as requested. Prepare presentations. Pull data to develop recurring or one-time reports. Locate and correct errors in reports. Prepare written reports to highlight changes in statistical measures that require attention/action by management; identify data discrepancies and/or anomalies in all State Fire Marshal reporting systems requiring reconciliation by staff. Develop and evaluate performance measures and metrics, and coordinate with respective managers to obtain the appropriate corrective actions. Evaluate narrative and graphical reports containing fire data and relay the necessary changes to authors. Perform comparative analyses of statistical reports to determine variance or reliability. Train others on how to use and create reports. Conduct the compilation, analysis, tracking and reporting of statistical data related to all Division-wide analysis projects and programs. Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and other tools used in data analysis. Analyze statistical research for impact on planning goals. Translate and explain the fire incident data and how it could be used by the State Fire Marshal leadership. Act as the liaison with Office of Information Technology to create reports and schedule transfer of data from State Fire Marshal databases. Prepare analytical reports and graphic presentations for State Fire Marshal’s Annual Report publications and for data requests from customers and other internal or external sources. Design and/or debug computer programs and manipulate data in order to generate automated statistical reports. Identify relevant data in preparing analytical and graphical reports from multiple database systems. Design and conduct statistical surveys and collect and/or coordinate collection of statistical survey data. Edit and monitor data files. Provide expertise in interpreting statistical data. Conduct descriptive research to forecast future trends in SFM data.
Acts as Federal Fire Database Liaison and State Fire Data repository manager.
Performs other related duties as required.
