The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, models, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and other data infrastructure to support the organization's data needs. The role collaborates with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and develops scalable solutions. They build and optimize data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency, and implement data governance practices.What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
• Develops and implements the data strategy and defines data architecture principles to cater to business needs while ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Develops and maintains the overall data architecture including data storage solutions, data warehousing, data lakes, and data visualization tools.
• Supports the creation of data governance policies and procedures that ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Defines reference architecture, performs data mapping, maintains data dictionary, and tunes performance and scalability of complex databases, processes, and queries.
• Partners with cross functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Analyzes data requirements, designs effective database solutions, and supports policy management, claims processing, underwriting, and customer service teams in their data needs.
• Monitors and optimizes the performance of data systems and databases to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Performs data warehousing modelling, designs data integrations, interfaces, data profiling rules and troubleshoots incidents on supported databases and solutions.
• Manages data integration processes to ensure seamless flow of information between different systems and platforms involving design processes, data pipelines, and data migration.
• Evaluates emerging technologies and trends in data management to recommend innovative solutions that enhance the firm's competitiveness and efficiency.
Work Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred; Computer science, Information Technology or Engineering is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree is preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
• Prescribed: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
• Preferred: Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) Certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

The target salary range for this position is $78,050.00 - $90,000.00 annually.The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
