Fixed Term (Fixed Term)The Manager Engineer is responsible for the leadership of one or more engineering scrum teams to plan, deliver and support service features that deliver customer value and/or mature service capability.
Accountable & responsible for the delivery and service ownership of Test Data Management (TDM) for the enterprise. This role is both strategic and operational to ensure that technical solutions enable operational excellence, are secure, reliable, scalable, cost optimized and maintainable.
They are also accountable for executing the People Leader fundamentals for the developers/engineers in their squads in line with NAB Policies and drive a learnings-based culture.
Main Activities
- Develop, maintain and drive Service and Asset Lifecycle Plans (e.g. service strategy, asset roadmaps, CR&R)
- Shape, Design, Develop, Support & Implement Software Delivery in alignment with the roadmap
- Ensuring governance and adherence to TDM standards across Design, Build, Implementation and Transition to Operation services
- Engineers/Developers within the team adhere to development guardrails, including compliance, testing, etc.
- Owns the adoption of standards, working with the team to ensure understanding and adoption of software engineering standards.
- Leveraging and exploiting cloud solutions, DevOps, testing automation, etc.
- Promote collaboration (both internal and external to Service team) of Software Delivery Tools, Continuous Delivery and DevOps usage at NAB
- Leading, Coaching & mentoring of team to uplift skills and knowledge to perform their role
- Maintain an understanding of ‘Best practice’ initiatives within own specialist area, and IT in general by continually seeking out relevant industry and technical knowledge. Improve on professional skills by completing necessary development activities
- Proactively manage risk, meeting all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to process and procedures pertinent to role; escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified
- Ensure all personal training records are maintained and kept up to date
- Take reasonable care for own health & safety, as well as that of others
- Conform with all internal operating procedures relevant to the position.
Key Skills
- Experience in providing technology client service, especially in Data Management
- Knowledge & experience in Data (Data security/privacy, database technology, Big data, etc)
- Knowledge & experience in Service Management, especially in Incident & Problem management
- Excellent understanding of asset/service SDLC and agile delivery methodologies
- Excellent documentation and communication skills with focus on currency and accuracy.
- Strong focus on Automation to enable self-service models
- Strong commitment to quality, detail and auditability with governance and process adherence
- Strong People Leadership & Management
- Customer Focus
- Passion for technology, keeping up with latest trends
- Understanding of NAB Technology and Application is desirable
Typical Experience
- It is expected that the role holder will most likely have the following qualifications and experience
- 12+ years Technology experience
- 10+ years in application development and / or support roles
- People Leadership
- Full lifecycle (design, development, testing and support)
- Diverse Technical Domain experience (Technology or Tools, cloud)
- Service Management (Incident & Problem)
- Quality engineering, solution design, development & testing experience (CI/CD, Unit testing)
- Cloud Technology / Platforms experience is highly desirable
- Business/Workload management tools such as Clarity/Rally
