The core objective of the PhD thesis will be to propose and investigate innovative algorithmic approaches that push the boundaries of efficiency, power consumption, and transparency in reservoir computing and AI. By addressing these challenges, the research will aim to unlock new capabilities and establish practical pathways for demonstrating and applying these advancements across a range of Airbus relevant applications. This position invites you to build upon emerging ideas in the field and to propose and develop your own original research contributions towards more efficient AI technologies.
Your tasks and responsibilitiesConduct research to establish and expand the state-of-the-art in frugal AI approaches, focusing on resource-efficient methodologies for real-world applications.
Innovate and design novel methods in reservoir computing, advancing the theoretical and practical boundaries of the field.
Develop associated tools and frameworks to implement and evaluate these methods, applying them to industrially relevant use cases.
Effectively communicate research findings and project outcomes both internally within the organization and externally at conferences, workshops, and in academic publications.
Work collaboratively with the team, contributing to a dynamic and innovative research environment.
Master’s Degree in the area of computer science and AI, or any equivalent field of studies with strong computer science relations (e.g. mathematics, physics).
A strong mathematical background is highly desirable.
A passion for programming in Julia, Python or C++ and the ability to implement complex algorithms efficiently is a valued asset.
A background in reservoir computing, computer vision or signal processing is a plus.
Fluency in English is required (the working language at Airbus is English).
