The Role:

As a Data and Analytics Lead, you will play a key role in managing and delivering analytics and insights, data science/AI/models, reporting and data/segmentation/personalisation requirements for Australia and NZ. This is a broad and highly commercial role focusing on delivering revenue, marketing and CRM outcomes, helping our users make better financial decisions, and our lenders to receive high quality leads. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the analytics and data function for Australia and NZ, covering analytics and insights, data science/AI/models, reporting, and data-driven personalization.
  • Engage with global peers to ensure shared knowledge, consistency, and alignment with the broader analytics strategy. Collaborate with the Analytics Lead (Non-UK GTM) on roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership teams (Product, Marketing, and Commercial) to optimize business performance and drive growth.
  • Provide strategic decision-making support, establish learning agendas, deliver board updates, and contribute to annual strategy reviews.
  • Develop and refine predictive models and insights, including financial forecasting, risk analysis, and customer segmentation.
  • Formulate mathematical and statistical models to simulate business processes, optimize decision-making, and improve financial outcomes.
  • Apply machine learning and AI frameworks to enhance data-driven decision-making, automate insights, and optimize key business functions.
  • Design and implement numerical analysis algorithms to improve forecasting accuracy and customer insights.
  • Define data collection methodologies, ensure data reliability, and evaluate data sources for analytics and reporting.
  • Perform data mining and data cleansing to uncover trends and extract insights for business and financial optimization.
  • Build and deploy machine learning frameworks to enhance personalization, automation, and business intelligence.
  • Manage and mentor a data analyst, fostering skill development and driving analytical excellence.

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in credit risk decisioning within lending, analytics, or data science related fields.
  • Bachelor in Mathematics/ Statistics
  • Ability to understand and synthesise different points of view
  • Understanding Data Science Tools, Databricks and SQL
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to inform business strategy.
  • An understanding of credit/lending landscape, market dynamics, business operations, and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies that drive profitability and growth.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the problems we are solving, and an ability to use creativity and initiative in pursuit of these goals.
  • Ambitious, a high-performance track record, comfortable with ambiguity and ready to take on a lot of responsibility quickly.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for learning.
  • Experience working within the Financial Services/credit landscape and an understanding of how credit decisions are made is an advantage.
  • Understanding of credit risk decisioning process for lenders.
