About the Role:  

The Senior Insights Analyst role is responsible for creating actionable insights from data and delivering meaningful analysis and reporting to assist the organisation to achieve its goals; accountable for the delivery of common law claim budgets, KPI’s and board reporting, and assisting the biannual actuarial valuation.  As part of the Pricing and Data Analytics Team, the role supports the data analytics strategy by creating dashboards and contributing to data literacy, data quality and data definitions.  The role involves working across and supplying actionable insights to all areas of the business and with all levels within the organisation up to and including the Executive Leadership Team. 

You’ll contribute to: 

  • Shaping the data analytics strategy through the creation of dashboards, enhancing data literacy, ensuring data quality, and refining data definitions. 

  • Proactively engaging in an advisory support function, providing insights, expert advice, and strategic guidance for the seamless integration of insights and data to enhance decision-making processes. 

  • Utilizing statistical and modeling techniques to forecast common law claims trends, emerging claims experience, and industry trends. 

  • Building and implementing common law budgeting, forcasting and actuarial models.. 

  • Identifying claim trends, patterns, and insights from data analytics to  produce regular board reports. 

 

A Bit About You: 

  • Demonstrated background in data analytics, insights, and reporting across diverse business-related activities and initiatives within an enterprise.  

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in actuarial studies, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Science, Applied Finance, or a related field. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, advise, and engage with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including the Senior to Executive Leadership team. 

  • Proven track record in providing business analytics and insights for board reporting. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency with three or more years of knowledge and experience in compensation and/or general insurance, or financial services. 

  • Hands-on expertise in BI tools such as Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau, and data analytics tools/software like Excel, SQL, Python, or R. 

  • Previous actuarial and workers compensation experience is highly advantageous. 

  • Practical experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is highly advantageous.
