The Role: Data Analyst

Oceans is seeking talented candidates in Sri Lanka to become Data Analysts.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Extract data from multiple systems to analyze and triangulate and determine what appears accurate and what appears inaccurate.
• Generate models with the data and configure or extend apps to work the way required to analyze data.
• Clearly communicate what is known and what isn't known so communication issues don't add to any lack of clarity that may already exist in the data set.
• Pair data analysis with critical thinking to move smartly through different data sets and analysis perspectives to ascertain whether that path may lead you to the source of the issue or another path.
• Rapidly adapt to and adjust analysis paths when results are not helpful.
• Model data using trendlines with higher order polynomial fits and understand what order of a polynomial trendline is appropriate based on the data plotted.
• Visualize relationships and meaning from graphical representations of data and not solely rely on numeric calculations for analysis.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics or any related field.
• A minimum of 4+ years exposure in a Data Analyst/Data Scientist or a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Tableau.
• Must have Ecommerce industry experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Experience in Shopify is a plus.
• Early stage startup experience is a plus.
• Professional fluency in English, with superb communication skills.(reading, writing, speaking)
