We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering data-driven insights by handling data requests across a wide range of data sets. Using a variety of different tools including Databricks, Tableau, Looker Studio, Amplitude, and DBT, you will extract, transform, and analyse data to support teams across the business.

 

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs, generate reports, and provide actionable insights that drive decision-making. Your work will involve analysing data from various sources, including sales, customer, marketing, and operational datasets, as well as supporting digital analytics when needed.

 

This includes developing performance measurement frameworks, supporting digital initiatives, and improving data quality across the board.

1. Data Extraction & Analysis
  • Write SQL queries in Databricks

  • Support stakeholders with answering key business questions

  • Handle ad-hoc and recurring data requests from different business teams

  • Ensure accuracy across requests through data validation

  • Use GitHub via VSCode to publish queries to code repositories

2. Delivering Insights & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Looker Studio.

  • Work with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business performance.

  • Present insights from analysis clearly to stakeholders, demonstrating their impact on business performance and customer experience.

3. Supporting Digital Analytics & Marketing Data
  • Work with web and digital analytics tools (such as Amplitude, Contentsquare, Medallia) to support reporting on website performance, marketing campaigns, and customer behavior.

  • Assist in integrating digital data with broader business datasets for more holistic insights.

  • Help teams understand and use self-serve analytics tools to explore digital data.

4. Performance Measurement & Business Support
  • Develop performance measurement frameworks to assess business and operational metrics.

  • Identify trends and provide recommendations based on data-driven insights.

  • Support forecasting, target setting, and promotional analysis.

5. Data Governance & Optimisation
  • Conduct QA checks to verify data accuracy before sharing insights with stakeholders.

  • Master new and existing data sources, focusing on improving data architecture.

  • Work with technical teams to integrate new data sources for business value

  • Apply advanced analytics to digital data sets using SQL, Databricks, and other tools.

 

THE PROFILE WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 2 years of experience in a similar role

  • Passion for numbers and analysis - finding the “so whats” and the “whys”

  • Experience using SQL for querying large datasets 

  • Skilled at data visualisation (e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau or Power BI)

  • Familiar with Amplitude Analytics / Google Analytics / Adobe Analytics or similar

  • Familiar with Excel or Google Sheets

  • Experience with  Commercial analysis (e.g., target building, forecast setting, promotional analysis, basic P&L understanding, etc.)

  • Good communication skills

 

NICE TO HAVE:

  • A general awareness of digital marketing 

  • A Level or equivalent in Mathematics / STEM degree is a plus

  • Some knowledge of statistics

  • Experience of using Python for data analysis

  • Hands on experience with dbt for data transformation 

  • Awareness of data governance best practices

  • Enthusiasm about sports

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This hybrid role would require the successful candidate to attend at least three days a week in our offices in London (Surrey Quays).
