The Senior Data Scientist will be a key member of the People Analytics Data Enablement and Strategy team, working with Workday and HR data in both structured and unstructured formats to enable comprehensive analysis and reporting. This role leverages expertise in mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
Responsibilities include tackling moderately complex to complex issues, requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Data Scientist will develop, maintain, and collect structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting, creating reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy. Additionally, this role will influence departmental strategy and make decisions on technical approaches for project components, working independently with considerable latitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and manage complex data assets.
Create reports, models, and manage data sets for analysis and reporting.
Collaborate with business, analysts, and data teams to set objectives and work plans.
Work with IT partners to define and create data assets for BI tools and analytic solutions.
Research and evaluate innovative analytical methodologies and solutions.
Interpret and communicate analytic results to both analytical and non-analytical business partners.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience or Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.
Experience collaborating with IT teams to translate business needs into IT requirements.
Skilled in developing, maintaining, and collecting data sets for analysis.
Experience with cloud data solutions like Azure, Snowflake, SQL database and/or Databricks.
Experience in IT business analysis and artifact development.
Ability to interpret and communicate analytic results effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in HR systems, processes, and data.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Proficiency in creating reports, projections, models, and presentations.
Proficiency in statistical and scripting tools (Python, R, SQL).

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
