What You’ll Be Doing
As the Consultant, Data Governance you'll be reporting to the Director, Operational Risk Initiatives and Change Management. The Consultant, Data Governance, Global Operational Risk Management (GORM) is responsible for supporting the business implementation of data governance and data management processes and procedures for the GORM. You will develop subject matter expertise in Risk Data ownership, sharing, consumption, analysis and reporting to support all aspects of data management, including strategy and planning, critical data elements oversight, data sharing and compliance with enterprise data policies and standards. The role requires ongoing and up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and advances in Data Governance

How You’ll Succeed
- Data Governance Strategy – Support and advise business stakeholders by providing guidance on the implementation of data policy and standards to the data community (data owners, data stewards, data analysts, and data scientists). Engage to implement data governance objectives and metrics to measure program effectiveness.
- Data Governance Framework – Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures. Enforce data ownership, stewardship, accountability and align with data classification and retention policies.
- Data Security and Privacy – Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations. Collaborate with security teams to protect sensitive data. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement security measures.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Engage with stakeholders in the creation of data quality dashboards to support the data governance monitoring and oversight mandate, ensure issues raised by the data governance leaders are resolved to meet business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Relationships – Build and maintain relationships with internal and external sources, colleagues, and others to obtain, provide, verify, and discuss information and best practices.
Who You Are
- You have an undergraduate/ Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
- You have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Business Systems Analysis or related fields.
- You can demonstrate experience in SQL, VBA, and other programming languages, database management, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and experience in using visualization tools to build Tableau/Power BI dashboards.
- You give meaning to data. Proven experience in implementing and managing data catalogues, automation of data quality processes, metadata management, regulatory frameworks. Analytical mindset with the ability to aggregate, manipulate, synthesize, and summarize large amounts of data.
- You communicate well with others. Superior verbal and written communication skills sufficient to convey complex information to a variety of audiences and levels.
- Your influence makes a difference. Sufficient self-confidence to serve as an independent challenge to the businesses, and to raise sensitive or unpopular issues diplomatically ensuring risks are proactively identified.
