Job Description: 

The Supply Chain (SC) Optimization Engineer / Modeler role reports into the Supply Chain Solutions team within the Corporate Planning Capabilities Group (CPC).  This organization delivers the data, business processes, and solutions to enable visibility and decision making for the entire product portfolio and P&L at the speed of business. The CPC team sit within the Corporate Planning Group that exists to define and execute a corporate wide operating plan that leverage internal and external manufacturing capabilities to optimize for Intel’s growth objectives. 

 

This role is the conduit between the technical solutions teams and the business stakeholders.  The Optimization Engineer / Modeler will optimize and govern the Supply Planning models – working alongside IT, Business Solutions Architects and Engineers to develop, maintain and enhance solutions.  Collaborates with Data Stewards and Process Owners to ensure model quality; and liase with Business users to ensure models are optimized in support of Business Objectives.

Hybrid is preferred for this role - requiring attendance at the office at least 3 days per week or as requested. Therefore, it is important for the candidate to be located in one of the 5 stated locations. However, Remote may be considered for the position if the qualified candidate is willing to go to the office as required for specific instances.

In this role your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives and improvements throughout the supply chain.

  • Develop network and product optimization policies, including operating models, sourcing, routing, BOM preferences, inventory policies, product and customer segmentation and Planning objectives and rules.

  • Drives planning model alignment with best practices and analytic support for planning parameters such as lead times, yields, DLCP splits, lot sizes, site and sourcing preferences and quotas, minimum loading rules, etc.; provides training and facilitation.

  • Work with cross functional teams with insights that will support data and process optimization in order to test different courses of action (what-if scenario planning)

  • Build models to support proactive capacity planning and total cost optimization.

  • Develop testing framework for model quality.

  • Develop tools and processes to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

  • Troubleshoot supply chain issues and work with Solutions teams to develop solutions.

  • Translate Intel's Product technology complexities (characteristics) into critical Supply Chain needs and then work with Business Solutions Architects to develop and implement capabilities.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supply chain goals are met.

 

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, postponement models, network and routing optimization, cost-to-serve analysis, and SC metrics.

  • Excellent problem-solving, strong collaborator, with willingness to drive change.

  • Skills to tell a story using data including visualization experience.

  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with a focus on root cause investigations.

  • Understanding and experience in implementing lean project initiatives.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, operations research, industrial engineering, statistics, economics or a related field.

  • 4+ years’ experience in managing complex Supply Chain Planning models in semiconductor manufacturing (including multi-chip, multi-level DLCPs) and/or building and implementing models through the creation of algorithms and running simulations to support current and future business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A related post graduate degree or an MBA with a focus on analytics, data or technology management.

  • Knowledge of Intel's Product Data Management, Product profiles and Supply Chain Network is extremely advantageous to this role.

  • 5+ years of experience in Blue Yonder ESP, IBP or SCP.

  • Time Series Statistical Techniques, ML Algorithms

  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulations.

  • Having both Demand and Supply Planning domain experience is an added advantage.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$144,700.00-$204,290.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. * Job posting details (such as work model, location or time type) are subject to change.
