Job Description

Are you passionate about Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies and eager to work with large data quantities, process optimization and quality assurance?

Then this is a unique opportunity to bring your strong data science capabilities, programming skills and learning attitude into play to help us implementing new AM technologies for large-scale production in the LEGO Group!

Core Responsibilities

In this new position as Data Scientist, you will be responsible for correlating machine performance and process data with the purpose of improving AM part quality. More specifically, you will:

  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Responsible for the preparation of collected data by cleaning, organizing, and redefining it into a suitable format for visualization and analysis. Assess large data quantities and ensure the dimensional reduction of these data is handled in a way that minimize the consequences of this reduction
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize additive manufacturing processes based on data-driven insights, aiming to understand and improve process stability and part quality, as well as enable faster technology development cycles
  • Quality Assurance: Drive the implementation of quality control algorithms and anomaly detection methods to supervise the Additive Manufacturing process and identify deviations or defects
  • Predictive Modeling: Drive the development of models to predict process quality, potential defects, and forecast maintenance schedules using techniques like statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Communication and Visualization: Ensure effective communication of findings and insights through data visualization and reports to multi-functional teams, customers and external partners to develop additive manufacturing solutions
  • Root Cause Analysis: Engage in investigating and identifying the root causes of manufacturing process issues or failures by analyzing historical data, helping in continuous improvement efforts
  • Capabilities Building: Support in building capabilities within the LEGO Group to develop and enhance data science skills, knowledge and expertise to expand our AM program and meeting organizational goals
  • Data Collection: Support in setting up data extractions methods to gather data from various sources within the additive manufacturing process, including sensor data, machine logs, and quality control measurements

Play your part in our team succeeding
