We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Revenue Operations Data Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our SQL database, integrating other data sources via APIs and keeping control of data quality in the database. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SQL, API integrations and understand business intelligence tools (especially Power BI) and be used to working within a fast-paced, data-driven environment. An Alteryx skill set is advantageous. You will work closely with the IT data team and cross-functionally with revenue, finance, operations and product teams in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain & Optimise existing Revenue Operations data tables
- Manage and maintain existing Revenue Operations data tables in a Microsoft data warehouse and optimise existing SQL queries for better performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues in a timely manner to ensure smooth operation of the Revenue Operations data tables.
- Collaborate with IT to fix more complex technical issues and in improving data reliability and overall warehouse performance.
- Build and maintain Power BI dataflows from various data sources to ensure smooth data updates.
Build & maintain new Revenue Operations datasets
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and ensure data is captured and structured correctly to meet these requirements.
- Ensure data is captured and structured correctly for visualization in reporting tools, mainly Power BI.
- Bring in new datasets by working with IT to integrate new data sources via API.
- Work with Revenue Operations team to update data tables in line with changing business requirements.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute data quality scripts to monitor the accuracy and consistency of the Revenue Operations data tables.
- Proactively identify data issues and suggest proposals to operations teams on how to address these issues.
- Work with stakeholders across different operations teams & IT to implement these improvements.
Process Improvement
- Review and assess manual data processes outside of systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Propose solutions and process enhancements to automate or streamline data-related workflows.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to implement process changes to ensure smoother and more efficient data operations across the organization.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computing or Data Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- 3+ years of experience with T-SQL and relational databases.
- Proven experience working with API integrations into SQL databases.
- Familiarity with data management platforms and CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Experience in data quality management, including writing and executing data validation scripts.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues in data warehouses.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to understand complex business problems and translate to effective code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of revenue operations, sales processes, and related metrics is desirable.
