Senior Executive/Asst Manager, Lab Management

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Senior Executive/Assistant Manager, Lab Management is a key position in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

The incumbent reports directly to the Manager, Student Administration and will manage SPMS’ new MSPSI laboratory by processing the administrative, operational and technical matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the delivery of courses and programs utilizing the PSILab

• Ensure lab facilities, equipment, and resources are well-prepared, maintained, and aligned with course requirements.

• Organize and coordinate lab sessions

• Conceptualize, plan, and develop innovative lab facilities, tools, and equipment to enhance the lab’s capabilities, and expand the scope of experiments and projects for hands-on learning in advanced science and engineering.

• Oversee project and experiment development, including collaborating with stakeholders, and managing timelines and budgets.

• Implement new experiments and projects to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science field with 1-2 years of relevant experience in academic administration and technical roles, with a proven record of excellent performance.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity or expertise in one or more tools and software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, ROS1/2, EDA, CAD, 3D modeling, circuit design, CNC/FDM/laser prototyping, electronics prototyping, IoT/AIoT, microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP-32, NVIDIA, Raspberry Pi), Linux/Windows OS, computer vision, AI, and signal processing.

• Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom; experience with data management software is advantageous.

• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, staff, and parents. Capable of explaining technical concepts clearly and collaborating effectively in team settings.

• Lab Management: Proficient in managing inventory, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring precision in setup, calibration, and operation.
