What We Are Looking For:

This position will support the pricing and product development function in a high energy, innovative, and entrepreneurial insurance company. Candidates will have the opportunity to join a growing team and get exposure to all aspects of actuarial work. This role reports to the AVP, Pricing and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.

What You Will Do:

• Develop and price annuity products in AXIS.
• Maintain pricing model for routine rate setting.
• Implement new products, assumptions, and features.
• Sensitivity testing, risk analysis, and product feature evaluation. 
• Work closely with cross functional areas:
• Actuarial, finance, distribution, strategy, compliance, technology, investments, data science. 
• Assist in the enhancement of existing processes and analytics with a focus on controls and consistency.
• Collaborate with our business partners in operations, valuation, and finance.
• Support ad hoc projects and processes for new products and acquisitions.
• Research emerging market trends and products.

Requirements

What We Require:

• At least one successful SOA exam 
• BA/BS in a related field 
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Strong communication -- oral, written, interpersonal and presentation – skills.
• Results oriented, ability to meet and exceed objectives.
• Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to work independently or in a team on a wide variety of assignments.
• Strong technical and analytical skills, especially in working with large data sets.
• Familiarity with R, Python, or a similar statistical software or programming languages.
