What We Are Looking For:
This position will support the pricing and product development function in a high energy, innovative, and entrepreneurial insurance company. Candidates will have the opportunity to join a growing team and get exposure to all aspects of actuarial work. This role reports to the AVP, Pricing and is required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and price annuity products in AXIS.
- Maintain pricing model for routine rate setting.
- Implement new products, assumptions, and features.
- Sensitivity testing, risk analysis, and product feature evaluation.
- Work closely with cross functional areas:
- Actuarial, finance, distribution, strategy, compliance, technology, investments, data science.
- Assist in the enhancement of existing processes and analytics with a focus on controls and consistency.
- Collaborate with our business partners in operations, valuation, and finance.
- Support ad hoc projects and processes for new products and acquisitions.
- Research emerging market trends and products.

Requirements
What We Require:
- At least one successful SOA exam
- BA/BS in a related field
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication -- oral, written, interpersonal and presentation – skills.
- Results oriented, ability to meet and exceed objectives.
- Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to work independently or in a team on a wide variety of assignments.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, especially in working with large data sets.
- Familiarity with R, Python, or a similar statistical software or programming languages.
