Wärtsilä is on a mission to strengthen our data governance, and we've just established a brand-new Data Governance office. We're on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Development Manager for Data Governance to join our team in Finland either in Helsinki or Vaasa. What you will be doing 
 
As a Development Manager, your responsibilities will include further developing our operational model and ensuring collaboration between different business units and stakeholders in data governance. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You will be working as part of a newly formed, efficient Data Governance team with diverse expertise.
 
Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement the Data Governance operational model.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines, policies, and templates.
  • Manage data governance tooling and taxonomy.
  • Ensure alignment of tools and methods across various business units and functions.
  • Support data domains in developing data management activities and enhancing data quality.

 
To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have: 
Basic Requirements:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Data & Data Governance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Finnish and Swedish is advantageous.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Hands-on experience with data governance on a global scale.
  • Ability to establish common working methods and align tools across different business units and functions.
  • Willingness to engage deeply in deploying data governance and support data domains in achieving improved data quality.
  • Provide training and coaching to the data management team and other data users.
  • Support and contribute to Wärtsilä's Data Management strategy and organizational setup.
  • Certification in Data Management is a plus.
