Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Principal Audio Engineer to join our team. With your deep technical expertise and visionary mindset, you will play a critical role in developing our next-generation audio solutions at the forefront of innovation. 

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced audio algorithms, both in time and frequency domain, suitable for low-latency communication systems.
• Develop new algorithms for audio and speech processing, ensuring they are novel, effective, and unencumbered by existing patents.
• Develop efficient and robust algorithms for transmitting audio streams over unreliable wireless mediums. 
• Create methodologies for thorough evaluation of audio and speech processing algorithms.
• Apply Machine Learning methods and tools to develop and optimize audio and speech algorithms.
• Apply expertise in information theory, coding theory, networking, and signal processing to enhance audio transmission quality and reliability.
• Lead audio algorithm implementation on embedded platforms, including DSPs, ensuring optimized performance in C, C++, and assembly.
• Develop software as well as hardware architectures for efficient real-time audio processing on semiconductor ICs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to ensure end-to-end system development. 

Required Experience and Skills

• Extensive experience in audio algorithms with a proven track record of innovation, leadership and commercial success.
• Expertise in time domain and frequency domain audio techniques.
• Expertise in audio and speech time series prediction.
• Expertise in adaptive filters and subband processing.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
• Exceptional DSP and audio algorithm implementation skills on embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Matlab and assembly programming languages.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning.
• Strong set of publications and patents in audio and related areas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lead projects with a geographically diverse team.

Desired Experience and Skills

• BSEE with 15+ years’ experience or MSEE with 12+ years’ experience.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100 - $278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
