Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Configuration/Data Manager to support configuration and change management activities at Wright-Patterson AFB. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Apply the fundamentals of configuration management to establish and maintain consistency of a product’s performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life.
- Analyze the impacts of the configuration management change process on lifecycle sustainment.
- Assist in the development and management of all Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) requirements.
- Plan and implement Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) and confirm the adequacy of data used to support these audits.
- Participate in Government review/meetings/working groups as applicable and in Government and industry teams for the resolution of complex configuration management issues.
- Assist in developing the Configuration Control Board (CCB) charter and the execution of the CCBs.
- Assist in reviewing/developing/updating applicable program documentation for configuration/data management relevant requirements.
- Establish and maintain consistency of a product’s performance, functional and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life.
- Aid the Government in proposing resolutions to conflicting engineering change proposal recommendations.
- Review program specifications for hardware and software; review engineering drawings and conduct in-process reviews; request nomenclature and Computer Program Identification Number (CPIN) assignment for Configuration Items (CIs); ensure marking of CI/Computer Software CIs (CSCIs) and associated documentation is accurate; and ensure appropriate documentation is approved and placed on contract for establishment/update of Government controlled baselines.
- Assist in the resolution of discrepancies and issues between the Government and Contractor; planning and scheduling of CCBs; prepare CCB briefings and documentation; and track implementation of approved changes.
- Assist with the determination of CSA database requirements; monitor data input; track the configuration of fielded systems and equipment; and monitor changes and status of configuration baseline documentation.
Qualifications
3+ years experience in configuration management including at least 3 years working in a DoD environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must have progressive experience in managing configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits to enable government ownership of the program technical baseline. Must have IT Configuration Management experience within the Department of Defense environment. Must understand distribution statements and FAR/DFARS data rights clauses. Experience evaluating change proposals for impacts to data. Experience performing HW and SW configuration audits. Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, media labeling. Experience producing release notes and CM reports. An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation. Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments. Experience developing briefings for management. Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle. Able to enter and manipulate data in a database. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Able to work independently and with a team. Experience in MS Office Suite software required. Must have skills and experience necessary to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
