Responsibilities

The Business and Data Analyst is involved in the interpretation, analysis and automation of business requirements to robust and innovative solutions. Solution design and development will be in SQL Query, Tableau, Excel, Python and other analytical tools. The Business and Data Analyst will be working closely with members of data and business intelligence team to deliver data and reporting solutions to claims, underwriting, risk services and finance teams. 

 

  • Gather requirements, documentation and build a strong understanding of business requirements.
  • Directly work with IT teams and Solution Engineers to gather requirements, work closely with database structures and develop reporting solutions.
  • Translating business requirements to technical solutions for ad-hoc and on-going projects.
  • Problem solver mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and focus on customer.
  • Able to adapt to working with multiple teams and tools to provide the most robust automation solutions.
  • Work with the innovation team to contribute on initiatives that enhance and streamline underwriting processes.
  • Support ad-hoc queries by business stakeholders to facilitate reporting and data analysis.
  • Develop SQL Server queries.
  • Understand and contribute on projects related to database development.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years experience in SQL programming (Microsoft SQL Server tools).
  • 1 to 2 years in developing automated reports in tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Understanding of database concepts and SQL structures.
  • Knowledge and ability work with analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Familiar with Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Technical ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Detail oriented with good follow-through skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to collaborate to implement robust business solutions.

 

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business fields, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
