Michelin North America (Canada) Inc., which employs 3,600 people and operates three tire manufacturing facilities in Nova Scotia, is seeking a Data Analyst to join its team in Waterville, Nova Scotia.
The Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing and utilizing available and relevant data to improve activities steering, decision making, and identify levers for creating value for the company.
Key expected accomplishments:
- a needs analysis is carried out and, if necessary, a specification sheet is drawn up;
- relevant data to meet simple or new needs are identified, collected, cleaned and prepared for analysis;
- basic trends and patterns are identified;
- relationships/indexes between data are defined in case of new requirements;
- data are analyzed and shared in an accessible format to the dedicated target through data visualizations;
- recommendations are made to the stakeholders, based on the data analysis, to create value;
- company offers, services, or processes are improved through knowledge gained with data analysis;
- company prescriptions on ethics and data governance (including data security, quality, consistency, integrity and confidentiality) are enforced and respected; and
- accurate documentation of processes and analyses is maintained and good practices are shared internally.
Requirements for these positions include:
- A degree, diploma or equivalent in Computer or Data Science;
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.

- strong written and verbal communication skills;
- well-organized and able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously; and,
- proven teamwork, interpersonal, leadership and planning skills.
