Purpose/Introduction

The Commercial Organization plays a key role in developing and executing CPChem’s strategy and business plans. Commercial coordinates with Manufacturing and Technology to develop optimal sales and operating plans, grow our asset capabilities and plan for the future. They identify and evaluate business opportunities, execute the supply chain, build customer and supplier relationships and work to continuously improve our offerings to provide increased value for our customers and shareholders.

The Performance Improvement Team is currently seeking to fill a Data Analytics and Performance Specialist position for the digital transformation and improvement objectives within the Commercial Organization. This position will provide analytical support to enhance data reporting and analysis within the global Commercial Organization and identify opportunities to streamline business processes. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain experience and insight into the Commercial Organization through the execution of innovative digital projects and process improvements. 

Responsibilities

Provides subject matter expertise for business reporting systems and tools (Power BI, SAP HANA, Planful,etc.) and analytical support to the broader Commercial Organization

Identify and lead opportunities to advance data driven decision making, automation, and to streamline business processes

  • Collaborate across Commercial product lines to determine appropriate data sources and develop data extraction and business rules to be used with reporting tools
  • Standardize and optimize commercial reporting and analysis across all Commercial Organization
  • Lead continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, standardizing best practices across the Commercial Organization
  • Partner with Business Transformation to enable advanced analytics and implement digital transformation projects within the Commercial Organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or business field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in related field
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including use of Power Query, VBA, macros, and pivot tables)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerBI (building and understanding data model, writing DAX measures, building interactive visuals)
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, loading and visualization
  • Successful candidates must possess outstanding analytical, communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the petrochemical industry
  • Experience with business reporting systems and visualization tools (SAP HANA, Planful, HANA, SQL Server, Power Apps/Automate, etc.)
  • IT/Technical project management experience
  • Knowledge of CPChem products, markets, and operations
  • Experience with financial and economic analysis modeling
