Summary

 

Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Operational Technology Data Engineer. The Data Engineer will ensure the efficient operation and continuous improvement of Operational Technology (OT) systems. This includes managing data collection, developing strategies, creating reports, connecting equipment to enterprise systems, and designing applications to enhance efficiency. The role also involves supporting projects, monitoring applications, maintaining alarming systems, ensuring OT security, collaborating with engineers, troubleshooting issues, documenting processes, and staying updated with OT trends and technologies.

What You Will Do 


•    Data Management: Manage and maintain data collection servers and software, develop new data collection strategies, create reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
•    System Integration: Connect shop floor equipment to enterprise systems. Design and maintain applications to improve operational efficiency.
•    Project Support: Support ongoing projects related to application development, database migration, and mobile unit data flow management.
•    Application Monitoring: Monitor and support Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications. Set up and maintain alarming systems.
•    Security: Ensure the security and integrity of OT systems through regular monitoring and updates.
•    Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and technicians to understand operational requirements.
•    Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OT systems.
•    Documentation: Document OT processes and procedures.
•    Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in OT and industrial automation.
•    Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.
 

Education & Experience Requirements

 

•    Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience.
•    Minimum of 3 years professional experience with Industrial Data.
•    Strong understanding of networks and protocols used to communicate with shop floor equipment.
•    Experience with Microsoft Power Applications.
•    Knowledge of various OEM PLC’s.
•    Proficiency in GUI design using various software development packages.
•    Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
