Location: Wrocław
Hybrid model: 2 days office/3 days remote

The opportunity

 

Data Security Services (DSS) is part of EY’s Information Security team. The mission of DSS is to design and deliver technology solutions and services to protect EY’s and our clients’ information.

Data Security Detection Engineer will be primarily responsible for two aspects. Enhancing DSS processes utilizing scripting and available automation tools and as well collaborating with Cyber Threat Detection and other Information Security teams to improve Insider Threat Detection program, which monitors and detects unusual user data transfer activity across the company (400k+ users).

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Tuning of existing and identification of new detection rules.
  • Developing scripts (preferred Python and other programming languages) to support automatization.
  • Work with technical teams and vendors to identify automation opportunities utilizing available APIs of DSS solutions.

 

Skills and attributes for success

 

  • Strong understanding of Data Security domain throughout the Data Security Lifecycle.
  • Ability to independently research and identify automation opportunities in complex IT environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

 

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

 

At least 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Information Security concepts related to Governance, Risk & Compliance.
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Technology support and Event Handling.
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Technology support and Event Handling.

 

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Kusto Query Language (KQL).
  • Proficiency in Python programming, particularly within the Information Security domain.
  • Process automation using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Power Apps, and Azure Logic Apps.
  • General knowledge of AI and Machine Learning libraries.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Global approach for working with different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to appropriately balance firm security needs with business impact and benefit.
