Job Description

The Client Experience Reporting Analyst (CERA) supports client teams by producing advanced analytic reporting that identifies opportunities to optimize plan performance. Focus is on plan utilization, trends, and outliers compared to a benchmark at multiple levels (drug category/class, disease state, drug, pharmacy, provider, etc.) by employing analytical tools and an evidence-based approach. The CERA works with the core client account team to support client financial goals and achieve MedImpact business results. The CERA relies on data and performance indicators, input from the client, and core account team, to identify and promote plan opportunities. The CERA manages reporting and analytic needs to collaborate with and support account management, strategic initiatives, projects, and/or programs. This position focuses on supporting analytic and technical aspects of clinical and plan management.

Core Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare client-specific cost, trend, and utilization analyses for a premier national account on a recurring and ad-hoc basis.
  • Combine large volumes of data into meaningful conclusions by utilizing a variety of business intelligence tools and data sources. Assists with all analytic needs, directly or in collaboration with other internal stakeholders to support recommendations being considered by assigned clients that align with both the clients’ and MedImpact’s mutual goals. Work in collaboration with account teams and internal stakeholders to identify strategic recommendations regarding client pharmacy benefit utilization and performance trends.
  • Supports clinical and non-clinical data needs and/or contractual commitments. The CERA is an integral part of designing, developing, and driving the clinical components of their assigned account team’s strategic and financial goals. The CERA’s focus will be centered on using a variety of analytical tools and resources to create meaningful performance and utilization reporting. Identify opportunities which simultaneously improve the plan sponsor’s quality-focused and financial performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing and/or develop new analytic processes.
  • Create analyses that drive overall strategy and demonstrate MedImpact’s value proposition to help the client make informed decisions.
  • Supports analytics necessary for MedImpact’s evidence-based interventions and communication programs to clients. Provides documentation of recommendations for clinically appropriate and financially beneficial clinical initiatives (e.g., lower net cost, generic programs, QA programs, clinical and specialty programs, and applicable rebate management).
  • Provides clinical utilization analyses and plan performance statistics in collaboration with the Clinical Program Manager(s) (Client Team) to support presentations to clients. Ensures timely and accurate review of plan data, according to policy, with appropriate intervention recommendations.
  • Supports recommended clinically appropriate initiatives to optimize the value of MedImpact’s rebate administration program for clients while delivering on the lower net cost goal.

Detailed Analysis of Client Data

  • Support selected marquee clients in synthesizing data to answer complex disease state and/or therapeutic category, specialty and non-specialty, demographic, prevalence, adherence, outlier, and other statistical related questions.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal position that requires collaborative service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to collaborate and respond promptly to (Client Team) needs; Solicit client feedback to improve plan performance insights and output of information; occasionally join meetings with clients and professionally present to local and national leadership.

Education and/or Experience  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires 3+ years of related experience and/or training.
  • Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) and/or health plan experience required.

                                   

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a proficient knowledge of Access, Excel and relational databases (SQL, Python, Oracle, BI Software, Cognos, etc.).

  • Python (intermediate to advanced) to merge and clean data from disparate sources (e.g., databases, Excel files, text files) to conduct analyses and to create reports and custom data visualizations (e.g., Plotly) that may be exported in a variety of formats including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, writing SQL, or PL/SQL (intermediate to advanced level) queries involving multiple table joins and nested queries.

  • Analytical skills with Health Informatics.
  • Receive business and clinical direction for objectives then translate into actionable reporting data.
  • Create protocols and workflows to validate and document accuracy of reporting provided.
  • Expand on existing reports and develop new plan ready reports and visuals (tables, histograms, starburst charts, etc.).

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills

Candidates must understand pharmaceutical calculations including fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percentages, and medication dosing. In addition, candidates must have the ability to calculate and/or interpret market shares and graphs.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, policies and procedures, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Work Location

This position is remote. Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonable meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel

This position may require approximately 10% domestic travel and may require international travel in which case a valid passport and ability to leave the United States will be required.
