Sr Lead DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure as Code
About the Role
The Cox Enterprises Intelligent Automation and Data Analytics (IADA) team is seeking an experienced DevOps / Infrastructure as Code Engineer. This team member will be part of the IADA Services organization, supporting the Intelligent Automation, Data & Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) portfolio for Cox Enterprises. In this critical role, you will be responsible for embedding Cox Enterprises’ DevOps standards and best practices within the IADA team, designing and implementing robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automating Azure AI & Fabric Cloud platform infrastructure, and implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track platform health and performance. The ideal candidate brings proven ability to design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and associated DevOps processes and best practices, along with expertise in implementation of Infrastructure as Code technologies (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.).
This is an Atlanta-based role and candidates must be willing to work in a hybrid work setting with a few days per week in the office.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
- Embed DevOps Standards:
- Implement and enforce Cox Enterprises’ DevOps practices across the IADA group to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance in our development and operations.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management:
- Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless code integration and deployment.
- Monitoring & Performance Management:
- Develop and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track the performance and health of applications and infrastructure.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain high system availability and reliability.
- Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning:
- Provision and manage the Azure AI & Fabric Cloud platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Ensure our cloud infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs.
- Implement DevOps Best Practices:
- Leverage and institute best practices from the DevOps Center of Excellence (CoE) to drive operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of automation and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 8 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 6years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years’ experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field
- Proven experience with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using modern tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and/or Fabric, including provisioning and managing AI & Cloud services.
- Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (e.g. New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain DevOps and MLOps practices within a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the office
Preferred
- Degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security, etc.)
- Experience in environments focused on Intelligent Automation, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, and/or Artificial Intelligence.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience collaborating and partnering in an Agile system of delivery
- Proficient scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
