Brandeis University is a private research university with a liberal arts focus in Waltham/Boston, Massachusetts.The Department of Computer Science at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the course COSI 136a: Automatic Speech Recognition, a 4 credit course, in Fall 2025. This course is open to instructor modification, within the overall focus on exploring speech recognizer core components and their underlying algorithms and surveying real applications, with coursework that involves students building and evaluating a variety of ASR-related applications using state-of-the-art models and tools.
The course will be taken by intermediate and advanced students in the two year Computational Linguistics MS program, along with interested CS undergraduates and graduate students.
Candidates with a PhD in hand by the start of the course or soon after in CL/NLP or a closely related field, and teaching, research, and/or industry experience in state-of-the-art advancements in NLP, will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is March 12, 2025.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
