The Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Executive Director of Biostatistics to lead our Medical Analytics and Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) projects. This strategic role involves overseeing the design and execution of statistical methodologies for post-marketing research, real-world evidence (RWE) studies, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), and other exploratory data analysis projects. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building and enabling a high-performing biostatistics team dedicated to delivering robust data-driven insights that advance our oncology pipeline and improve patient outcomes. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Biostatistics.

Lead the biostatistics function for medical analytics and exploratory data analysis initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the design and implementation of statistical methodologies for exploratory data analyses using existing clinical trial data, real world data studies, post-marketing research, and HEOR studies.

Partner closely with other subfunctions within quantitative sciences and with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, medical affairs, statistical programming, and regulatory affairs, to integrate statistical considerations into evidence generation plans.

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of biostatisticians specializing in exploratory analysis strategy and casual inference methodologies

Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in statistical practices.

Manage relationships with external partners, such as contract research organizations (CROs), ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Ph.D. or M.S. in Statistics/Biostatistics, a minimum of 12 years (for Ph.D.) and 15 years (for M.S.) of experience in biotech/pharma industry as a statistician, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within oncology clinical development and/or medical affairs

Solid knowledge of statistical methodologies for oncology, including survival analysis and causal inference.

Experience with RWD, electronic health records (EHRs), and genomic/biomarker data in oncology.

Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and mentor statistical talent.

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to biostatistical activities and clinical trials.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Good interpersonal and project management skills are essential.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) in oncology is a plus.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $,000 to $,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
