Job Description
As our BI Engineer, you’ll be part of a global Business Intelligence Team. You’ll report directly to the BI Team Lead.
You’ll be responsible for improving the quality of existing reports, migrating them to different formats or tools, and creating a new catalogue of strategic reports that support our One Third Bridge vision.
You will create business intelligence and data visualization reports using SQL (Google BigQuery) skills and BI tools, mainly Microsoft PowerBI.
You will produce and maintain reports in Google Sheets (occasionally in Microsoft Excel) and support ad hoc business requests. You will work with complex business logic and are expected to take the initiative in understanding the business processes.
You’ll be supporting the Helpdesk function daily with queries about existing reports, access issues, and any other inquiries. You’ll work directly with the BI Team to design, produce and test BI reports and liaise with stakeholders from across the business to understand and deliver their BI reporting requirements. You may also collaborate with other Technology colleagues to enhance the data ingestion process from SaaS and in-house systems into Google BigQuery.
You will ensure that reports are produced to a high standard and delivered on time, while managing stakeholder expectations regarding content and delivery schedules.
You will produce reports using data visualization software and implement SQL standards and best practices across the team, interpret and understand business rules and financial formulae and translate them into performant SQL code for the purposes of reporting or for inclusion in our internal software.
You and the team will ensure our report catalogue is maintained and up-to-date, retiring discontinued reports that are no longer needed for our strategic One Third Bridge BI function. Working with our Data team you will support the adherence to good data governance procedures.
You will be expected to work within the team to support overall goals and adapt priorities as needed to achieve the One Third Bridge goals.
