The Financial Crime Practice at Deloitte Canada is looking for seasoned Technology / Analytics leaders to join us on our mission to help build the most innovative technology solutions to combat help our clients combat financial crime.
What will your typical day look like?
In this role some of the duties will include but not limited to:
Client Engagements and Go-to-Market
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and technology requirements
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients including best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies
- Develop and nurture relationships with clients
- The ability to actively participate and shape strategic objectives in Financial Crime
- Collaborate and interact across Deloitte services to leverage complementary competencies
- Drive business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, leading RFP responses, and contributing to thought leadership material
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead/oversee multiple, concurrent analytic engagements, from initiation to completion, across a portfolio of clients
- Lead storytelling based on the analytic insights that provide perspective to client objectives
- Focused on delivering a “no surprise experience” to the client, which includes project, risk and engagement economics management
- Ability to identify strategic opportunities that are aligned to client objectives beyond the tactical execution of the engagement
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and project sponsors
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and outcomes effectively to ensure alignment and buy-in from all parties involved
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language
Team Development
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Financial Crime Practice
- Coach and mentor team members in alignment to Deloitte's values
- Foster a continuous learning environment and develop technical capabilities aligned to career aspirations
Continuous Improvement
- Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements, industry trends, and best practices
- Continuously evaluate and refine our consulting methodologies, tools, and frameworks to drive innovation and excellence in service delivery
- Share knowledge and insights with colleagues through training sessions, workshops, and internal knowledge-sharing platforms
About the team
The Financial Crime landscape is continually evolving and becoming increasingly complex for our clients to manage. Rapidly emerging fraud vectors, cyber-attack typologies, and increasing money laundering risks and regulatory pressures leave our clients struggling to respond in a nimble and effective manner, as they battle siloed systems and organizational structures.
Deloitte helps companies protect their brand and reputation by proactively advising on their exposure to fraud, corruption, money-laundering, regulatory matters, and other financial crime issues. Drawing on our global network of intelligence analysts and advanced analytics technology, we can quickly and efficiently gain an understanding of our clients’ exposure and help them achieve their goals.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
You are someone who is/has:
- Interest in understanding the problem statement, and use cases of Financial Crime (e.g. Fraud, Money Laundering) and apply this knowledge in your every-day design and development of data solutions
- 8+ years of professional work experience in data analytics related to financial crime, specifically strong knowledge of topics such as AML regulations, fraud typologies, regulatory expectations (e.g., FINTRAC, OSFI), etc
- Experience working in consulting or financial services is a plus
- Experience in leading a team that includes technical and non-technical professionals in the delivery of an engagement
- Proven experience with data analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI
- Proven experience in “story-telling” – providing practical insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Expertise with SQL, designing schema, writing complex queries for RDBM’s (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and distributed Query engines (AWS Athena, Google Big Query, Databricks, Azure SQL), able to debug and diagnosis issues.
- Completed a bachelor's degree or master's degree in either: Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, or other similar quantitative discipline.

Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $123,000 - $228,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
