Summary:
In this role, you will develop software products for large, complex stories spanning multiple technology domains, with an emphasis on integrating AI-enabled contract management systems and managing data flow across platforms. You will be at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge AI, machine learning, and data engineering to transform key business functions at Vizient. You will drive the development of scalable, innovative software solutions. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on projects that incorporate emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning spanning multiple technology domains.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, enhance, code, test, deliver, and debug software and integrations independently, including the implementation of AI and data-driven systems such as the Enterprise Contract Management System (eCMS).
Lead larger, complex stories, especially those that integrate machine learning, AI, and database management solutions across various technologies.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, Workday) and other business-critical applications.
Utilize in-depth technical knowledge to facilitate and lead story breakdown, grooming, and prioritization.
Provide development guidance and support to less experienced engineers, with an emphasis on mentorship in AI-driven contract management systems.
Help drive architecture/design sessions at both the feature and product levels, ensuring that systems are optimized for AI/ML integrations and database performance.
Lead the design and development of scalable data pipelines and enterprise-grade software solutions that adhere to industry standards and emerging trends in machine learning and data management.
Design and produce system and data document artifacts including the eCMS data flows.
Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, including advancements in AI, machine learning, and big data solutions, and applies this knowledge to improve software products.
Communicate technical trends and solutions to management to influence long-term product strategy.
Provide technical mentoring to less experienced engineers, particularly in the implementation of complex data systems and AI model integrations.
Ensure knowledge transfer around best practices for deploying scalable systems and maintaining data integrity.
Meet established training requirements and follows procedures, while also proposing new methodologies for optimizing software development, AI integration, and data pipeline management.
Improve development processes to integrate machine learning models effectively, ensuring both software quality and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as data scientists, business analysts, and operational teams to ensure software meets business objectives, especially with respect to data governance and AI-powered system outputs.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders to drive collaboration across departments (e.g., legal, finance).
Qualifications:
Relevant degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science; advanced degree desired.
5 or more years of experience in software engineering, including significant exposure to AI and machine learning technologies is required.
Proficiency in Python, Java, or other relevant languages required.
Strong understanding of ML algorithms, data pipelines, and system integration, especially in AI-driven environments required.
Experience with big data technologies and ETL tools, including data flow and pipeline management required.
Expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases, database design, and performance tuning required.
Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for data storage and processing.
Experience in implementing and maintaining data systems, ETL pipelines, and database optimization is preferred.
Deep understanding of multiple technologies including AI/ML systems, database management, and software architecture.
Proven ability to design, code, and test enterprise-grade software that integrates AI/ML models and handles large-scale data flows across platforms.
Strong experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, machine learning frameworks, and emerging AI tools.
Demonstrate familiarity with data governance and compliance standards, ensuring the systems adhere to best practices.
Provide insight into how AI/ML technologies can drive competitive advantages and deliver actionable insights across the business.
Collaborate with teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with evolving business requirements and technological advancements.
Take ownership of larger, more complex software projects, ensuring timely completion while aligning deliverables with broader organizational goals.
Manage multiple teams and cross-departmental initiatives to ensure that AI-enabled systems and software meet both technical and business objectives.
Familiarity with AI-enabled contract lifecycle management platforms (e.g., Evisort, Pramata) preferred.
Experience with MLOps, continuous model improvement, and performance monitoring in production systems preferred.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and master data management practices preferred.
Relevant certifications in AI, cloud technologies, or data engineering preferred.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
