The Data Platform Tribe within Technology Services / Data & Functions provides Danske Bank with centralised data warehouse, enterprise reporting, and analytics services across multiple banking domains. The Data Protection Squad is a dynamic team committed to safeguarding the bank's data privacy. This newly established squad is responsible for ensuring compliance and enhancing our data protection capabilities across the organisation.

  • The squad owns the bank's enterprise data privacy tool
  • They encourage continuous dialogue with the Data Protection Programme to ensure alignment and collaboration
  • They oversee compliance from a platform governance perspective on our new data and machine learning platform

As a Chapter Lead, you will collaborate closely with the Product Owner in a collaborative model, ensuring the squad operates efficiently using agile methodologies. You will be responsible for guiding the implementation strategies—the "how" of task execution. Your primary focus will be to support the integration of data privacy by design into our new data platform, as part of our F28 Strategy.

As a Chapter Lead, you are an innovative and experienced leader, blending deep domain expertise with a drive to coach and develop others. You serve as both a "contributor and coach," spending approximately 50% of your time managing your Chapter and the remaining 50% as a contributor in a Squad, delivering value by completing work.

The workplace is located in Vilnius, Lithuania or Copenhagen, Denmark. Danske Bank supports workplace flexibility, currently offering a hybrid work model where working from home up to two days a week is an option.

You will:

  • Take ownership of the enterprise data protection tool, driving its implementation and providing ongoing support across the bank
  • Establish and develop the squad to support the Data Privacy Programme
  • Serve as the HR manager for a team of skilled software engineers, overseeing their professional growth and personal development through performance evaluations, training programmes, and recruitment initiatives
  • Ensure all implementations adhere to our architectural guidelines and uphold the highest standards of the bank's best practices
  • Collaborate closely with other Chapter Leads within your tribe to fulfil leadership responsibilities and address challenges together

About you:

  • Extensive experience with enterprise platform solutions, specializing in infrastructure and data integration
  • In-depth understanding of data privacy principles, including GDPR and other relevant data protection laws, with the ability to translate these principles into effective code
  • A minimum of 3 year in a leadership role, demonstrating the capability to lead, mentor, and cultivate a skilled technical team
  • Expertise in Python programming and proficiency in Infrastructure as a Code (Iaac)
  • Capable of quickly understanding and implementing data privacy tools, efficiently aligning organisational processes with the tools' functionalities and capabilities
  • Effective communication skills and Upper-Intermediate English proficiency

We offer:

This position can be located both in Denmark and Lithuania. If the position is located in Lithuania the monthly salary range will be from 5220 EUR to 7800 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
