D&A Consumer Delivery Team Manager

 

Position:

 

The D&A Consumer Delivery Team Manager is a key position in the Data & Analytics team accountable for the delivery of all Consumer DES Echosystem solutions and projects being the main ones CDP-Treasuredata, Adobe Campaing, 1-2-1, DES Middlelayer, Market Performance Program, Unified KPIs framework.

 

The role needs a combination of business understanding, team coordination, strong technical skills and problem-solving skills.
The incumbent will support and implement the vision of a Data Driven Company playing a key role in curating, enriching, and democratizing current & future data assets in the Organization, making them available for the M&S Consumer and enabling future Function’s data empowerment. He/she will be working with a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers, MLOps engineers, data modelers and visualization, to create high quality data products that create tangible benefits for users.
You will also support to oversee the work of more junior profiles providing guidance and ensuring their development.

 

You will be in charge of the whole lifecycle of the solutions including current maintenance (preventive and corrective) and planned evolution to meet new business requirements as well as correct monitoring and budgeting. Together with this he/she will be accountable for new changes and technical improvements needed in the current solution design to cope with new requirements or new standards brought either by the Data Platforms Team or by Microsoft as part of new features and capabilities.
 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Lead the Development of the projects for M&S Consumer Function:

 

• Ensure that all projects within the function are executed on time and on budget and follow the required standards defined by Data Platform and Operations team. The Delivery Team Manager will act as single point of contact to the corresponding BTS & Data Activation and JTI Business in the allocated function
• Participate in the existing projects committees for follow up and status
• Establish guidelines and code reviews and enforce its compliance across all projects, ensuring all projects within the function are aligned in terms of best practices and standards 
• Identify synergies across projects and optimze and promote the enforcement across whole Data Platform and Operations team
• Responsible of internal/external capacity allocation and Agile backlog prioritization based on needs from BTS & Data Activation and/or Business Function
• Work closely with other teams during projects lifecycle mainly with BTS M&S, Data Activation, GTC, EA or vendor providers (i.e. Microsoft and Databricks)
• Project Management and coordination of the development across projects, establish principles of Agile ways of working identifying what is a minor change and what needs to be managed as new feature or change request.
• Provide technical advice and experience to handle and resolve complex issues within the several projects, anticipate problems and recommend solutions

 

Lead the Team Delivery including internals and externals:

• Apply specialist/professional expertise and use judgement to make decisions where solutions are not obvious, to deliver services that meet customer requirements and service standards
• Ensure professional and quality service standards are maintained and applied within the area of Team’s activity
• Coordinate efficient internal and external resources utilization
• Foster adoption of best practices and standards across all projects
• Promote and build a creative and collaborative atmosphere within the team (internal or external) facilitating and helping communication flow among the different team members

 

Innovation:

 

• Work closely with D&A and other IT Teams (EA, BTS, I&O) to identify opportunities for using data in new and innovative ways
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and innovative thinking in a fast-paced environment
• Investigate new ways of working staying up to date with latest innovations delivered by Software Vendors and identify possible usability and benefits conducting POCs whenever it is needed
• Propose enhancements in current solution to increase automation and decreasing lead time to deliver

 

Planning & Organizing:

 

• Monitor, analyse and manage delegated budgets, funding and resources in accordance with JTI’s policies and procedures
• Perform all planning exercises (LE/OL, TDT, and ASP) timely within defined budgets for the projects in specific Business Function, by planning period according to IT Finance
• Lead or contribute to the operation of an efficient and effective service ensuring the work of the team supports Business plans and that necessary resources are secured
• Timely communicate the status update, potential issues & risks
• Plan major projects and reviews within a defined area of work to support and enhance delivery ensuring optimization of team and budget/resources is met
• Directly manage a multidisciplinar group of direct reporters to ensure the successful delivery of a service
• Monitor and support the performance management and development of team members using a coaching approach, to support individual development and ensure that individual contributions are maximised

 

Who are we looking for:

 

• College or University degree in the computer science or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence Data and Analytics
• 5+ years of IT experience including the multinational companies 
• 5+ years of dataware house experience
• 5+ years of new modern data platforms mainly Azure suite.
• DEVOPS, CI/CD and Data project management 
• Very good knowledge of FMCG industry focusing on Marketing and Sales Function
• Experience working in a multinational environment with remote teams
• Excellent analytical thinking and Problem solving skills
• Experience in MS Azure cloud and agile methodologies
• PowerBI development with experience on advance modeling such as Composite model
• Databricks experience
• Strong analytical skills and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent team leadership and communication skills.
• Very skillset on datawarehouse optimization and performance
• CI/CD experience and DEVOPS
• Very good Database skills (Azure SQL and Synapse), scripting and data modeling
• Very good written and spoken English.
