Wells Fargo is seeking Senior Lead GenAI Data Scientist role to join Commercial Banking Model Development CoE. This role is pivotal in accelerating the development and implementation of cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) and AI solutions within Commercial Banking. The successful candidate will optimize model development and implementation for projects/programs, work with a team of data scientists and collaborate with business and technology partners to drive end-to-end solution design and development for implementing virtual assistants, content generation, agentic frameworks, and for improving employee/customer experience, driving operational efficiencies, driving growth, and mitigating risks. Working with data, platform, and technology partners, this role will accelerate and optimize design and delivery of GenAI and AI solutions by ensuring data, utilities, capabilities, and best practices are available on-prem and in the cloud. In this role, you will:
- Advise experienced leadership to develop performance on highly complex activities related to creation, implementation, and documentation of highly complex statistical theory
- Perform operational risks to forecast losses and compute capital requirements
- Develop quantitative strategies for real-time and long-term objectives
- Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring extensive knowledge of the most complex financial products
- Utilize stochastic, structured securities and has expertise in the theory and mathematics behind the data
- Provide vision to experienced leadership on implementing significant business solutions that are inclusive of technical, audit, and market perspectives
- Collaborate and consult with regulators, auditors
- Drive optimization of model development and implementation framework, lead and partner with fellow data scientists and tech teams to accelerate GenAI speed to market
- Ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, and optimized by building modularized utilities, codifying best practices, and sharing knowledge
- Partner closely with LOB product owners and solution engineering teams to design and develop fit for purpose GenAI solutions
- Identify, synthesize enabler capabilities needs and user requirements to product and platform partners
- Optimize solutions by reducing cost, improving accuracy and performance
- Experiment and rapid prototype with the agile principle, deliver impactful business solutions with a sense of urgency and integrate AI solutions into business processes ensuring scalability and robustness
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance such as prompt engineering, agentic framework, tools, and capabilities to stay current with a competitive landscape and emerging AI technologies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Vertex AI
- Strong background in GenAi/NLP, machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis
- Experience in the financial services industry, Commercial Banking a plus
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in GenAI/AI model deployment
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong full stack data science skills
