What You Will AchieveThe Sr. Manager, AI and Data Product Management within the R&D AI, Data, & Analytics (AIDA) team is a leadership role responsible for driving the vision, design and creation of AI and data products to support Pfizer's R&D objectives. This includes establishing an integrated roadmap for data products in collaboration with the business teams and maintaining strong relationships with relevant stakeholders senior leaders (including IT leaders, R&D leaders, and technology vendors) to ensure the product roadmap delivers set vision and metrics are aligned with the overall business strategy. This role is involved at every phase of a product lifecycle ensuring the successful realization of the product vision, requiring strong decision-making, team leadership, data product management, human centered design and agile delivery expertise.
The Sr. Manager, AI and Data Product Management will also be responsible for managing budget, resources and vendors related to the product portfolio they are responsible for. The successful candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of AI and data product management discipline, agile delivery and change management, with a proven track record of delivering impactful solutions in a complex organizational environment.
How You Will Achieve It- Create shared vision and strategy for data products to achieve R&D domain business strategy and goals.
- Responsible for the overall Product Vision and metrics (e.g., Objectives & Key results (OKRs) fulfillment of product).
- Build and maintain integrated product roadmap, prioritizing features based on value & feasibility to achieve business strategy and goals.
- Participate in planning, defining, and high-level designing of solutions and explore solution alternatives if current technology does not suit business needs.
- Communicate and ensure transparency to the product vision, strategy, and results to senior management and business partners.
- Manages data product expectations and drives adoption within the organization.
- Work with cross-functional teams of engineers and designers to deliver user-centric products.
- Apply user-centered design principles and practices in the product development lifecycle.
- Exercise strong decision-making mandate across cross-functional teams .
- Drive products to achieve success metrics on an ongoing basis throughout the product lifecycle by analyzing and solving the problems of your targeted end users.
- Collaborate with leaders and teams across the portfolio to ensure successful market launch and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
- Oversee creation of user stories/specs and data analysis to justify product decisions and apply key learnings.
- Lead multi-disciplinary team responsible for AI and data product delivery ensuring high quality, timely, and impactful results. Ability to empower team members to make decisions and foster an environment of shared understanding, ownership and accountability.
- Provide leadership and guidance for agile / iterative delivery of data products.
- Provide delivery oversight ensuring high delivery quality.
- Drive change management and adoption of data product usage.
- Foster a culture of creativity, curiosity, inclusion, and excellence.
- Set, articulate, and drive the team to deliver against integrated product roadmap through shared understanding of strategy and delivery plan.
- Effective communicator and presenter; create and deliver presentations and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Effective at adapting to shifting circumstances and business environment, creating and team environment that easily adapts to change with continued productivity and high morale.
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- 6+ years of product management experience
- Experience successfully creating and executing against product visions, strategies, and roadmaps that achieve goals and outcomes
- Exceptional at working with and analyzing user metrics and turning them into actionable insights, including the use of A/B testing and analytics platforms.
- A curious and highly motivated self-starter who can work effectively across cross-functional teams and can independently drive progress toward completion with proper planning and management
- Passion for creating user-centric digital and interactive experiences
- Agile/Lean Development knowledge, training or experience
- A strong communicator with great written and verbal skills
- Up to date and knowledgeable about the latest trends, innovations and best practices in the digital space
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Nice-to-Have
- MBA or Master’s degree in strategy, management, or related field is a plus
- Certification in Agile and Scrum development practices is a plus
- Experience in product design and data & analytics
- Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industries a strong plus
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements
- The AI and data product manager will need to work hours required of the product team and travel as needed (approx. quarterly)
