As nVent's Data Governance Leader, you'll be the driving force behind our data revolution, architecting the frameworks that turn information into innovation. In this pivotal role, you'll blend strategic vision with technical expertise to build a data-driven culture where quality, security, and accessibility converge to create business value. You'll work with executive leadership to position data as a critical organizational asset while ensuring we maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical data use. In this position, you will:

Strategic Leadership & Program Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy aligned with nVent's business objectives and digital transformation initiatives

  • Establish a resilient Data Governance Community of Practice to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and usability across the enterprise

  • Drive executive alignment on data governance scope, objectives, and strategic value

  • Integrate data governance best practices into agile development processes and digital solutions

  • Lead the establishment of data quality standards, master data management protocols, and data lifecycle policies

Data Analytics & AI Enablement

  • Architect a governance framework that enables advanced analytics capabilities while maintaining appropriate controls

  • Establish clear data lineage and traceability mechanisms to validate analytics outputs and ensure trustworthy insights

  • Design governance protocols that support AI/ML model development with high-quality, properly managed training data

  • Implement metadata management practices that enhance data discoverability and facilitate AI innovation

  • Develop governance standards for transparency and ethical AI use

Data Asset Consolidation & Unification

  • Spearhead initiatives to identify, catalog, and consolidate disparate data assets across the organization

  • Engage in the development of enterprise data models that support unified data architecture

  • Establish governance processes that facilitate data integration while maintaining data integrity

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure governance standards align with data platform strategies

  • Drive data standardization efforts to enable enterprise-wide analytics and reporting

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Forge collaborative partnerships with Privacy, Legal, Digital, and Cyber Security teams to ensure unified data protection

  • Implement data classification frameworks and handling protocols that align with regulatory requirements

  • Build privacy and protection controls into data governance methodologies and practices

  • Develop governance procedures for managing critical data throughout its lifecycle

  • Ensure governance policies adapt to evolving regulatory requirements across global markets

Organizational Development & Change Management

  • Develop comprehensive training and support programs for data owners, stewards, and users

  • Clarify roles and responsibilities across the data governance ecosystem

  • Champion data literacy initiatives to elevate organizational capabilities

  • Prioritize governance initiatives to align with key business objectives

  • Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of governance practices

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Previous Experience and Skills:

  • Ideally 10+ years of progressive experience in data management with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.

  • Lead the charge in pioneering strategic data initiatives.

  • Excel in a collaborative environment, applying your outstanding interpersonal skills to engage with executives, business users, and vendors.

  • The ability to provide thought leadership and communicate technical solutions and concepts in business terms.

  • Guide and inspire teams, offering mentorship and orchestrating meaningful stakeholder sessions.

  • Champion Master Data Management efforts, setting the standard for industry best practices.

  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, fostering data-driven processes and procedures.

  • Thrive in an environment where ambiguity sparks innovation.

  • Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, solution architecture, design, development and deployment.

  • Able to balance multiple projects with ease and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Demonstrated consulting skills, experienced with organizational change management concepts and strategies, including communication plans, strategies to drive culture change, and implementation of performance measures to track progress.

  • Must be self-directed with excellent initiative and organizational skills.

Pay Transparency
 
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
 
Compensation Range:

$123,500.00 - $229,500.00

Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
