We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our high performing and growing Indirect Tax team and play a key role in developing and maintaining a enterprise customer-facing reporting and analytics platform.

About the Role:

  • Design, develop, and implement data models, ETL pipelines, and BI solutions using your expertise in data engineering.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into efficient and scalable application code, ensuring alignment with cloud architecture principles.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, business analysts, and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Embrace a DevOps mindset, championing continuous integration and actively contributing to the improvement of our development processes.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring our platform meets customer SLAs and scales to handle large data volumes.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment and demonstrate a passion for continuous learning and innovation in the data engineering space.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience building production-ready ETL pipelines for data warehouses or operational data stores.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases like Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Netezza, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery.
  • Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
  • Proficient in Python development or similar programming languages, with a focus on creating robust and optimized code.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience with GCP data warehousing and ETL services.
  • Experience with PySpark including the ability to debug performance bottlenecks.
  • Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools (Airflow, Control-M, AWS Step Functions).
  • Experience optimizing ETL code for high-volume data processing.
  • You're a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in collaborative environments.
  • You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You're passionate about continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance our solutions and processes.
  • You embrace new technologies and challenges, demonstrating a desire to learn and grow.
