Job Summary

The Red Hat Agility and Technical Solutions (AnTS) team seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join our engineering organization in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will drive data-driven decision-making and process improvements by managing and analyzing data to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.

You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization across teams while ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability for effective analysis.

Additionally, you will define and track key Agile metrics, making them accessible and ensuring teams interpret them correctly. You will also automate repetitive data collection and reporting tasks, allowing teams to focus on higher-value analysis and improvements.  Furthermore, you will integrate data from multiple sources, including Agile project management tools, to provide a unified view of organizational performance.

This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with data visualization and reporting tools, and a deep understanding of Agile frameworks and engineering workflows. We'd love to hear from you if you're passionate about using data to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence!

What you will do:

  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Agile and Continuous Improvement, such as velocity, cycle time, lead time, and defect rates, to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

  • Design and deliver regular reports on team and project performance, develop and maintain real-time dashboards to ensure actionable data, and integrate data from Agile project management tools like Jira for seamless access across teams.

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility, as teams rely on reliable insights for informed decision-making during sprints and improvement cycles.

  • Apply predictive modeling techniques, such as regression analysis and forecasting, to anticipate project timelines, resource needs, and potential risks while identifying emerging risks based on data patterns to address issues before they impact project timelines proactively.

  • Conduct scenario analysis to use data for simulating different outcomes to support decision-making for key projects or process changes.

  • Automate data collection from multiple sources, reducing manual effort while improving accuracy and timeliness, and implement automated reporting systems and dashboards to provide real-time insights with minimal manual intervention.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 5–7+ years of experience in data science or a related role, or a Master’s degree in the same fields with 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience working with statistical analysis, machine learning models, and algorithms.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, preferably Python or R, though Java or JavaScript are also acceptable.

  • Experience working with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses, including data querying and integration.
