Overview

Our Data & Analytics group, within Deutsche Bank’s GTI, is working with cutting-edge technology to transform the way we work, We are at an exciting time, expanding our core data enabling capabilities to unleash the value of the Company's data assets to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace and advancing our journey to Cloud (GCP) as well as improving our on-premise platform to have a similar technology stack to cloud with the goal of making the Cloud and On-premise platforms similar hosting solutions for applications.

Data & Analytics provides a stable and secure Big Data platform along with analytics and reporting tools across the enterprise. This role is part of the GTI Hybrid Cloud function.

Our goal is to build & offer simple self-service shared platforms for clients to consume and in turn run their own business applications on. We’ll use a combination of vendor supported Enterprise Hadoop technologies coupled with Cloud native services and use automation for efficiency and accuracy, Our highest priority is to satisfy customer needs through early and continuous delivery of valuable software and technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement scalable Big Data architecture solutions for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity

  • Implement production grade Big Data systems or reporting analytics tools in alignment with enterprise architecture and infrastructure guidelines and standards, tuning for operational efficiency (e.g. low cost/high automation)

  • Design/build, configure/support software on Cloud and/or on-premise as per defined hosting solution for Data and Analytics and tools in collaboration with architects, engineering leads, product managers, and other key program stakeholders

  • Demonstrate leadership involving technical, process and people issues, to make sure we are doing the right thing

  • Implement security including encryption best practices for Big Data and reporting environments

Skills You’ll Need

  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) on either Hadoop-based engines such as Hive, Impala, Spart SQL

  • Demonstrate expertise in Data Engineering (e.g. Big Data, Reporting, ETL tools, etc)

  • Experience developing data pipelines using two or more of the following Cloud native or similar technologies such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc

  • Experience with one or more reporting tools like Tableau, SSAP tools/Business Objects, and Power BI

  • Experience with security including authentication, authorization, and at-rest and in-motion encryption (e.g. PKI)

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Understanding of database theories, structures, categories, properties, best practices and data governance

  • Knowledge of languages such as Java, C++, and Python

  • Good stakeholder management with excellent communication and problem-solving skills within a team culture

  • Ability to translate customer and product requirements into stable, sustainable, and reusable solutions while reducing inefficiencies and removing duplication

  • Extensive experience in Cloud, Big Data, Databases, and Business Intelligence tools

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 to $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
