Brief Overview of Position
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Data Analyst to drive the development of advanced BI solutions and support strategic decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will design impactful dashboards, analyze complex datasets, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. This is a hands-on, highly analytical role that blends technical expertise with a business-focused mindset.
Responsibilities
Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Design and deliver sophisticated dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI to enable data-driven decisions
Analyze large datasets in Snowflake using SQL and other programming languages (e.g., R, Python) to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and solve business challenges
Lead the development of reusable templates and reporting frameworks to streamline reporting processes and ensure consistency across domains, ensuring scalability and usability for self-service analytics
Conduct root cause analysis of data discrepancies and drive resolution with Data Engineers or our central Technology team
Partner with Data Product Owners, BI Developers, and Data Engineers to align data models and data pipelines with business needs
Apply statistical techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, forecasting) where applicable to provide forward-looking insights to stakeholders
Leverage BI tools to embed model outputs (e.g., predictions, scores) into dashboards and operational reports
Begin integrating more advanced data product management techniques like version control, user research, and roadmap planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
5-7 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, data science, data product management, or related roles
Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to write optimized queries and work with large datasets in Snowflake
Extensive experience with building interactive dashboards using Power BI or similar BI tools, including advanced features like parameterized reports, custom visuals, and row-level security
Experience in working with large datasets and optimizing BI queries for performance
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema)
Hands-on experience and understanding of ETL/ELT workflows and familiarity with tools like Coalesce.io or Airflow
Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and data visualization – experience with Posit is a plus
Familiarity with statistical techniques, such as regression analysis, clustering, and time-series forecasting is a plus
Strong knowledge of data governance practices, including metadata management, data quality reporting, and associated tooling (e.g., Collibra)
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Excellent communication and storytelling skills to deliver insights in a clear, impactful way to both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to manage competing priorities on complex projects, initiatives, and deliverables
Familiarity with version control systems like Git and experience using collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
