The Position
We are seeking a Data Scientist Associate Director to drive advanced analytics and predictive modelling initiatives while leading a dynamic, cross-functional team based in Prague and Boxmeer. This role will play a crucial part in leveraging data-driven insights to support business decisions, optimize processes, and enhance operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a forward-thinking analytics team, drive impactful insights, and shape data-driven strategies within a global organization.
What will you do?
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team across Prague and Boxmeer, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Understand the business context of key decisions and articulate opportunities from a user-centric perspective.
- Develop and implement mathematical, statistical, and technical approaches for predictive modelling, simulations, and optimization.
- Build robust analytical models using Python/R, ensuring quality, documentation, and reusability.
- Automate repeatable analytical processes to improve efficiency.
- Communicate complex analytical insights to diverse stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and actionable business solutions.
- Evaluate analytical outputs, interpret results, and provide strategic advice to business partners.
- Maintain expertise in data sources, metadata, and data quality management.
- Stay at the forefront of modern methodologies in predictive modelling and data science.
- Promote a culture of analytics-driven decision-making as a competitive advantage.
- Lead the delivery of large-scale data analytics projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational processes.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
- MSc (or higher) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Proven experience in leading data science teams and delivering global analytics projects
- Deep expertise in predictive modelling, time series analysis, probability, econometrics, and stochastic processes
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, including experience in software development best practices (version control, collaboration tools)
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply data insights within real-world business contexts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with senior executives and cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a globally dispersed team
- Willingness to travel (around 25% of a time)
