About the project:

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect/Principal Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with another Architect to develop a comprehensive migration plan, engage with stakeholders to gain their buy-in, and address any challenges that arise.

You will be:

• collaborating closely with another Architect to design and implement a detailed migration plan,

• communicating the migration plan effectively to stakeholders and secure their support,

• addressing and resolving any challenges or concerns raised by stakeholders,

• working on-site in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) for 2-3 days per week, with the possibility of reduced on-site presence in the future,

• ensuring the migration process aligns with best practices and industry standards.

Requirements

Your profile:

• ready to start immediately,

• proven experience with Databricks and Google Cloud Platform (GCP),

• experience with large-scale data migrations,

• strong background in data engineering and cloud infrastructure,

• ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment,

• flexibility to travel and work on-site in the Netherlands as needed,

• familiar with modern cloud native data stack,

• hands-on experience of building and maintaining Spark applications,

• fundamental understanding of various Parquet, Delta Lake and other OTFs file formats,

• strong written and verbal English communication skill and proficient in communication with non-technical stakeholders.

• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
