The Company has been leveraging its experience building augmented reality micro-display engines, interactive display modules, and consumer lidar modules.   To strengthen our team at the Redmond location, we are looking for a Staff Systems Engineer. As a key member of MicroVision's Systems Engineering team, you will collaborate with various technical teams in the company to design and take into production market defining Automotive LiDAR product.  Pay Range: The pay range for this Washington-based role is $140,000 - $180,000. Exact compensation offers will vary based on skills, experience, and location. This role may be eligible for a new hire equity grant and/or a performance-based equity incentive plan.
Job Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ·        Create system architecture documentation (Confluence and Enterprise Architect).·        Cooperate with multiple teams on Product definition, APIs, system latency, data throughputs.·        Cooperate with multiple teams on meeting LiDAR point cloud quality KPIs.·        Create hardware and software tooling to support all the above.·        Support systems engineering in accordance with ASPICE and ISO26262 best practices. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ·        Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English. ·        Proficient understanding of Electrical Engineering design.·        Sufficient understanding of LiDAR technology, flash, as well as MEMS.·        Basic understanding of optics.·        Proficient Programming in Python is a must; any modern OO language is a plus.·        Experience with large-scale (automotive) requirements.·        Ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple departments. Required Education and Experience: ·        Masters in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related science degree, or a combination of education and relevant years of experience.·        +4 years of relevant experience, or PH.D. in related field.·  (Digital) Signal Processing experience·  Experience working within automotive, robotics, warehousing, mining, and/or precision farming; or other similar/applicable industries. We would also prefer candidates with:
·  PHD in Optics or Physics or field related to LiDAR·  Experience with Verilog FPGA/RTL programming·  Mechanical hands-on experience (optic and data collection setups)·  Passion for Optics and Light Physics  This is an on-site position. ·        We are not able to provide visa sponsorship for this position.  You must be able to work in the US without  sponsorship.·        You must live and reside within commuting distance from MicroVision's headquarters in Redmond, WA.   MicroVision offers flexible work schedule that could include a hybrid schedule of onsite and remote work subject to team and business needs. You must live and reside within a commuting distance from MicroVision's Redmond, WA office.
