Purpose of Role

Extend and support our analytics platforms and grow data science and software development skills.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Work within the analytics platform development team to build new capability.
  • Support and resolve product issues and defects.
  • Grow understanding of data science and its application to solving real world problems
  • Build software development skills to support the platform and analytical methods, such as Python, Java.
  • Learn the software development lifecycle from a product perspective.
  • Join and contribute to our professional communities

 

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Must have experience: working with geospatial data related projects
  • Previous experience with Iceberg, DataLake, Trino, Spark (Sedona), Ray, Iceberg, Flink
  • Interest in data science and machine learning.
  • Specific languages: Java, Python,
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a distributed product team
  • Assume ownership for tasks / problems and see them through to completion
  • Interest in learning and contributing to software development, including backend or frontend development, and potentially both.

 

 Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience of software development lifecycle
  • Experience with ESRI SDK, Dask, Apache Pulsar,
  • Experience working in a scrum team.
