Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a pivotal role that emphasizes advanced reporting and analytical initiatives. This position is responsible for developing robust PowerBI dashboards, leading data reporting efforts, and spearheading analysis projects to uncover actionable business insights. As a senior team member, you will also mentor junior staff and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executives, to ensure that data and analysis drive strategic decision-making.

How You Will Make An Impact

Reporting & Dashboard Development:
•Design, develop, and maintain dynamic PowerBI dashboards and comprehensive reporting solutions that drive strategic insights.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to define key performance metrics, ensuring that reports provide actionable and timely data.
Analytical Initiative:
•Lead in-depth analysis initiatives to uncover trends, identify business opportunities, and address complex analytical challenges.
•Translate complex data findings into clear, strategic recommendations that inform business decisions.
Data Modeling & Metric Development:
•Develop robust data models and establish metrics that accurately reflect business performance and support strategic objectives.
•Work cross-functionally to ensure that data models align with business needs and reporting requirements.

Data Governance & Quality Assurance:
•Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data governance policies and best practices to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
•Conduct regular data accuracy audits and performance tuning of SQL databases to optimize data retrieval and overall system performance.
Mentorship, Collaboration & Project Management:
•Mentor junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
•Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executives and cross-department teams, to gather requirements and manage BI reporting, data infrastructure, and analytical projects from inception through to successful execution.
Technical Expertise & Process Improvement:
•Leverage expertise in SQL, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data marts to support and enhance the data infrastructure.
•Continuously assess and improve existing processes and reporting frameworks to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

•Effective Dashboard Development – Designs intuitive, real-time dashboards with relevant KPIs that enhance data visibility and usability.
•Data Quality & Integrity – Ensures accuracy by implementing validation checks, resolving discrepancies, and using reliable data sources.
•Stakeholder Collaboration – Engages with business units to understand needs, providing data-driven recommendations that drive measurable improvements.
•Automation & Efficiency – Reduces manual effort by automating reports and optimizing data processes for improved efficiency.
•Clear Communication & Visualization – Translates complex data into easy-to-understand insights using effective storytelling and visualizations.
•Continuous Improvement – Regularly updates reports, dashboards, and processes based on user feedback and business needs.
•Data Governance & Compliance – Ensures adherence to company policies and industry regulations, maintaining secure and well-documented data practices.

What You'll Bring

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar field.
•5 years of experience using Power BI or a similar BI platform (Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.).
•5 years of experience developing and implementing business intelligence solutions, including modeling, design, development, optimization, and testing of reporting systems.
•Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a solid understanding of relational data models, data analysis, DAX, ETL concepts, SQL, and performance optimization.
•Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and work within tight deadlines.
•Excellent communication skills to provide updates to all levels of management and stakeholders.

 

Preferred Experience or Skills (not required):
•Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Qlik.
•Experience with data manipulation languages such as Python or R.
•Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
•Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
